Academic Referrals

Partnering on Student Success

The Center for Student Academic Success invites you to be our partner in helping students who are struggling or in distress by letting us know about students for whom you have concerns. Please connect with us in the event of any of the following situations:

  • If you have concerns about a student not meeting the minimum requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress and scholarships.

  • If a student is missing a significant number of classes. Students wanting to document an extended absence/faculty require documentation (i.e. death in the family, serious medical situation) should be referred to the Office of Student Life.

  • If a student is considering transferring or taking time off.

  • If a student received mid-semester warnings or believes they are failing a class(es.

  • If a student is struggling with resolving holds or navigating a university process.

  • If a student discloses they have a documented disability or are not taking advantage of accommodations they are eligible for through Student Accessibility Services, please encourage them to seek support through SAS

  • If a student needs extra support in a particular class, please refer them to the Tutoring Center.

  • If a student requires assistance in understanding academic honesty & integrity issues.

  • If a student needs to take a semester off (Advising handles withdrawals; medical leaves of absence are granted through Student Life)

  • If a student sustains a concussion and is in need of support.

  • If a student needs further academic support or other assistance that you cannot provide.

It is also important to know that CSAS works closely with the Division of Student Life and can assist with identifying additional resources in Student Life.
