Social Media & Marketing Team Member
Job Description
Student Programs, Leadership & Orientation is seeking a motivated, resourceful and tech-savvy student to serve as a social media and marketing intern. Applicants should have a strong level of experience with these channels as well as a strong writing skills, organizational skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and creativity to spare. The ideal candidate will be able to think strategically and see how social media fits into a department's marketing strategy while supporting clubs, organizations and department programming.
Primary Duties
- Maintain current social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) by strategizing, crafting and executing all platforms.
- Measure and document the impact of social media while making recommendations for the future.
- Employ innovative tactics to grow the audiences of each account; this can be through contests, informational series, etc.
- Secure relevant photos and videos to post to social media pages.
- Share relevant google analytics and other social media analytics with department staff.
- Collaborate with the Department and potential Division of Student Life staff on marketing projects which may include print advertisements, weekly events newsletter, etc.
Special Skills Needed
- Exceptional knowledge of social media platforms including analytics i.e. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
- Ability to handle a busy multi-task environment
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Innovative thinker
- Positive attitude and customer service skills
