Student Assistant - Entrepreneurship Program Development
Job Description
The student assistant in this role will support the establishment and growth of the new entrepreneurship major and minor. This includes helping with matters such as marketing materials, website management, report creation, outcomes assessment, enrollment trend tracking, recruiting, and event planning. The assistant will also assist in competition applications, respond to inquiries about the program, and potentially manage social media channels. As the position evolves, the student will be entrusted with increased responsibilities, fostering professional skills and leadership experience. Note: This position does not involve driving duties.
Special Skills Needed:
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Familiarity with website management and social media platforms is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, or the ability to learn and acquire proficiency quickly.
Academic Major Preferred:
Preference is given to those students interested in majoring or minoring in Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing, or related fields, but the position is open to all students who have a strong interest in entrepreneurship as a process and/or in program development.
Work Hours & Benefits:
This is a part-time position with flexible hours to accommodate the student's academic schedule. It provides a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship education, marketing, and program administration. The position offers mentorship opportunities with Dr. David Jorgensen and the potential to network with entrepreneurs and professionals in the field.
Interviews:
Through the end of the Spring 2024 semester, Dr. Jorgensen is available to conduct interviews of interested applicants on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 11 and 11:50 am, and in general from 2-5 pm. During the summer, it will depend on the week and may involve discussions over email in lieu of a face to face appointment.
