Year 1
Responsibility/Function
Overview:
The student assistant will be an integral part of the launch and ongoing success of the upcoming entrepreneurship major and minor at our university. The assistant will work closely with Dr. David Jorgensen to create, market, and administer the new programs. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, creativity, and a proactive attitude. The role is expected to evolve each year, with increasing responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth.
Marketing and Advertising:
- Help create marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and posters.
- Assist in developing and implementing advertising strategies.
Social Media Management:
- Update social media content with current news, events, and course information.
- Monitor and report on metrics.
Report Creation:
- Assist in compiling data and creating reports on entrepreneurship program status and progress.
Recruiting and Enrollment Trends:
- Track markers of interest in both the major and minor.
- Assist in recruiting activities, including attending and staffing events.
Accepted Students Days:
- Prepare materials for and assist in staffing Accepted Students Days.
Year 2
Responsibility/Function
Major and Minor Outcomes Assessment:
- Assist in designing and implementing outcomes assessments for the entrepreneurship major and minor.
Information Sessions:
- Help plan and facilitate information sessions about the entrepreneurship major and minor.
Planning:
- Aid in planning for annual exhibitions and other meetings related to the entrepreneurship program.
Tutoring Program:
- Monitor and report on the status of the tutoring program for entrepreneurship students.
Fielding Questions:
- Respond to inquiries about the entrepreneurship major and minor.
Year 3
Responsibility/Function
Competition Applications:
- Organize and support students in the application process for relevant competitions.
Social Media Management:
- Manage and curate content for social media channels associated with the entrepreneurship program.
Academic Research & Grant Applications:
- Assist in academic research related to entrepreneurship.
- Help apply for grants to support the entrepreneurship program and related initiatives.
Course Support:
- Support in administrative tasks for regular classes based on interest and capacity.
