Shadow Visit Assistant
Job Description
Shadow days are the perfect opportunity for an accepted student to experience life at Roger Williams University. The student will shadow a current student, attend a class in their desired academic area, and can also tour campus during their visit.
The Shadow Visit Assistant works closely with the Assistant Director to recruit Shadow Hosts, coordinate personalized visit experiences, and ensure a seamless visit experience. You will also be communicating with the Deans and Professors to schedule days and times of classes that the accepted student is interested in attending.
This role holds a tremendous amount of responsibility. The student would be using an array of interpersonal, academic, and technology skills. The student will be working closely with the entire admissions team along with many faculty members.
Year 1
Responsibility/Function
Year one you will work with the Assistant Director to learn the procedures involved with setting up and scheduling shadow visits. The procedures for setting up a scheduled day of shadowing will be explained and how to enter them into our system will be as well. You will eventually be setting them up on your own, communicating with student’s, their families and professors.
Year 2
Responsibility/Function
Year two you will work more independently having the knowledge from the previous year. You will continue to set up shadow visits for incoming accepted students who will follow an RWU student to class or classes. The incoming student may also have other requests such as meeting with a professor or coach.
Year 3
Responsibility/Function
During year three you will continue to work independently scheduling shadow visits and personalized visit requests. We will work collaboratively to focus on areas of improvement to streamline the program. You will also work with us to find and help train your predecessor.
