After School Program Assistant

Organization: Town of Bristol Parks and Recreation Dept.

Hours/Schedule: M-F 3-7:30pm flexible schedule to accommodate
Job Description: The after-school program is open daily from 3-6pm. BP+R would like to extend the support of care and supervision until 7:30pm to offer care to school aged children who may be at the center while their caregiver is attending one of the centers evening fitness classes.
The program offers opportunities for local children to use the center’s facilities to include the gymnasium, game room, gym equipment etc. The program will also include supporting students in homework help and guidance, 1:1 mentoring, board games, arts and crafts etc. Support students individually and in small groups. RWU students are encouraged to bring their unique personal skillset to help grow and enrich the program if they are interested in doing so – teach an art, craft, sport, new skills. Support general program development. Must be outgoing, energetic, flexible and innovative in this role.
Additional hours and opportunities may include supporting similar Bristol Parks and Recreation programming throughout the year to include events like “Parents Night Out” – a Friday evening drop off event hosted at the center to include a games and activities and other events that take place during non-standard operating hours.
NOTE: Completed BCI required.
Transportation: Accessible by RIPTA, includes .4 mile walk from bus stop to facility.
