Roger Williams University Appoints Laura Baldwin as First Chief Marketing Officer

Baldwin brings years of experience in higher education marketing to lead the RWU marketing and communications department.

Bristol, R.I. – Roger Williams University announces the selection of Laura Baldwin as its inaugural Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) following a national search. A distinguished higher education marketing executive accomplished in innovative branding experiences, Baldwin will lead the marketing and communications department starting on Aug. 28.

Baldwin will develop and implement a vision for RWU's marketing and communication strategies to expand the university’s brand. She will lead initiatives across institutional print and digital marketing, website and social media strategies to build reputational awareness for all schools and colleges by coordinating shared goals, unifying storytelling, and aligning with Roger Williams’ future vision.

She is a dynamic and creative leader with years of experience in higher education marketing who will enhance our marketing initiatives and elevate our brand to new heights.”

Baldwin began her career in print media at the University of Pennsylvania. Over her 30-year career, she has gained expertise in creative direction, inclusive brand development, consumer behavior, marketing and branding strategies, and crisis communications. Baldwin served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications and CMO at Arcadia University, developing creative alliances across the university focused on the ultimate brand experience and reaching institutional goals. Her creativity drove university priorities, resulting in transformative projects, such as a complete university rebrand, website overhauls, communications strategies, a redesigned Arcadia magazine, international education marketing leadership, and bold campaigns that expanded brand awareness in a competitive landscape.

Baldwin holds an MBA from Arcadia University and a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from Drexel University. She has gained recognition in the higher education industry for her innovative branding experiences and community involvement in the arts.
