Thomas R Newman, PhD is an adjunct Professor of Computer Science at Roger Williams University where he teaches courses in Computer Architecture, and Computer Programming.
His research focuses on professional development in computer science for elementary and middle school educators, with a particular interest in understanding how collaborative approaches among teachers influence the quality and sustainability of computer science program within a school.
In addition to his academic interests, Dr. Newman is a Senior Systems Architect for MEDITECH, where he leads a software development group focusing on developing cloud-hosted solutions for healthcare applications.
He holds a PhD in Education from URI, master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Framingham State University, bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Wentworth Institute of Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art.
