Katrina Norvell holds an MBA and a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Norvell’s research interests and areas of specialization include community-engaged leadership, public and non-profit management and governance, program evaluation, ethical leadership, and organizational theory and behavior. She teaches in both the Master of Science in Leadership and Master of Public Administration programs, and is also the Program Director of the Baccalaureate in Public Administration for the School of Professional and Continuing Studies. Prior to joining the faculty at RWU, Dr. Norvell served as a faculty member at Providence College, Seattle University and Portland State University. As a public service practitioner, Dr. Norvell served in leadership positions at several nonprofit organizations in Florida and Oregon. Dr. Norvell is a member of the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA), the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA), and is a board member of the International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE). She is also a section editor of the International Journal of Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement.
