Ahmet E. Akosman joined Roger Williams University in the fall of 2018. He received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Boston University. Dr. Akosman’s dissertation work focused on the ultrafast pulse dynamics in low noise mode-locked fiber lasers.
At RWU, he has research interests in the development of lasers for telecommunications and ranging applications, and novel optical systems for detection applications. His other research interests include photonic systems in sustainable and solar energy, and engineering education.
At Roger Williams, he teaches ENGR240 - Circuit Theory and Laboratory, ENGR 460 - Electromagnetic Theory, as well as ENGR 360 - Signals and Systems, and ENGR 424 – Digital Signal Processing.
