Carles Enrich Giménez (Barcelona 1980), architect and master in theory and practice of the Architectural Project. He has combined his own practice with academical research. Actually he is an associated professor in Projects at ETSAB since 2015, professor in the Master of Projects in La Salle and visiting professor in the TEC Monterey, Mexico. From 2008 to 2017, he taught Projects and Urban Design at the Reus School of Architecture. He was also visiting professor in the Extra-Local workshop organized by Columbia GSAPP in 2019, has collaborated on international master’s degrees such as the BIARCH in 2012 and directed the Vertical Workshop at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture in 2018.
In 2013 he set Carles Enrich Studio in Barcelona, where he develops projects that cover the entire habitable territory, from the domestic sphere to landscape.
The quality and rigour of the practice’s built work are endorsed by consecutive nominations for the EU Mies Award in 2017, 2019 and shortlisted in 2021, and the Lisbon Triennale Début Award 2016, and have been awarded in the Spanish Architecture and Urban Design Biennale Awards in 2016, 2018, 2021, the FAD Opinion Prize in 2016 and 2021, and the AJAC Awards for Young practice in Catalunya in 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020. The practice has been recognized with the Trienal ENOR Award for the best young studio in 2020 and the AR Emerging Awards in 2021.The studio also participated in the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2012, with the exhibition Context in “Architectural Rowers” in the Catalan Pavilion and, in 2016, as part of the exhibition Unfinished, which earned the Spanish Pavilion the Biennale’s Golden Lion.
