Study Abroad Photo Submissions
Roger Williams University is seeking photo submissions from students’ study abroad or away experiences
Terms
Photo submission begins September 3, 2024 and ends September 11, 2024. By submitting an entry, you agree to the submission terms. The first 25 entrants will receive an exclusive RWU Stanley cup, and all additional entrants will receive an RWU luggage tag for their future travels.
Who May Submit
Any Roger Williams University undergraduate student who attended an abroad or away program during the 2023-2024 academic year including winter 2024 and summer of 2024 is welcome to enter. This includes participants from both faculty-led and non-faculty-led programs, but does not include any travel that was part of a vacation.
Subject Matter
Your photo or video should capture an experience, a site, or a location of your program. Apart from this requirement, there is no restriction on subject, theme, or style. We encourage photographs that capture the essence of your experience, location, and personal expression.
Specifications
- The photo must be in its original state and cannot be altered in any way, including but not limited to removing, adding, reversing, or distorting subjects within the frame. Photographs must not show the name of the photographer or any other information (these details can be included in the metadata of the photograph but must not be visible on the photograph itself).
- Entries will not be accepted unless submitted via the official submission form. Entries not submitted through the proper channel will be deleted.
- A high-resolution photo of 300 dpi (phone photos are accepted as long as it is of good quality). Video files must be uploaded in .mov or .mp4 and have high-quality compression.
- Accepted Formats: jpg or jpeg format, .mov, .mp4
- Photos cannot contain any sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent, objectional, or inappropriate content as determined by the university's sole discretion.
Submission Process and Deadline
If you meet the eligibility criteria you may submit up to six photographs. Please use our online form to submit photos. Photo uploads should be high-resolution jpg or jpeg format.

Important Advisory
By submitting a photograph and/or video, you agree to assign to Roger Williams University all ownership rights in such photograph and/or video, as well as the right to use, publish, and copyright the photograph and/or video forever into perpetuity. You also warrant that you are the sole creator and sole owner of the photograph and/or video and of all rights herein assigned.
