RWU Guidelines for Research Involving Human Participants due to COVID-19 (revised 9.2022)
For all RWU HSRB protocols:
- Research involving face to face interactions with human participants must adhere to the guidelines recommended by the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH), the CDC and the RWU campus community. While current RWU and state recommendations do not require these interventions, researchers must remain aware of changes to guidelines at the university, state, and national level. Should changes in COVID-19 guidelines occur at the university or state level, researchers should communicate with the HSRB to determine if a Revision to Protocol is needed to implement recommended public health measures within the study.
- Researchers conducting studies with COVID-19 vulnerable populations should continue to take COVID-19 social distancing and masking precautions. These steps should be clearly outlined in the HSRB application. Please contact HSRB with any questions.
- Researchers conducting studies at community site will collaborate with partners to ensure that all current COVID-19 protocols are followed.
