Graduate Advising & Peer Mentorship Assistant

The Graduate Advising and Peer Mentorship Assistant will report directly to the Assistant Director, Advising and Peer Mentorship and indirectly to the Director of Academic Advising, the Graduate Assistant (GA) will serve as a multifaceted asset to the Center for Student Academic Success.

Peer Mentorship Management

  • Monitor peermentors@rwu.edu email and send first year student messaging when directed.
  • Assist Assistant Director with fielding questions regarding Peer Mentor/Mentee cohort assignments.
  • Assist Assistant Director with recruitment and training programs for the 2025-2026 Peer Mentorship cohort.
  • Assist Assistant Director with management of PM Leads and their designated committee groups:
  • Social Media Committee, PM Response Committee, PM Workshop & Presentation Committee
  • Contribute to Social Media Committee initiatives.

Advising:

  • Assist with proactive advising communication and participate in student outreach campaigns during multiple times within the academic semester.
  • CSAS Front Desk Administration:
  • Staff CSAS front desk as needed.
  • Assist with restocking of office supplies as necessary.
     

Required Qualifications 

  • Must be current RWU graduate student
  • Be in good academic and judicial standing with the University and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality policies when working with students and accessing student records
  • Sign confidentiality agreement
  • Previous experience in an office environment or customer service role desired
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Social media experience

Must be a current graduate student at RWU. This role will be available for the 2025-2026 academic year.

May work 8-10 hours/week, paid at $20/hour up to $4,000 per academic year.
