Join us for First Inaugural Campus Poetry Walk!
The University Library and the Writing Center are hosting an outdoor “poetry walk” to celebrate National Poetry Month in April 2023.
Opening the second week in April, the walk showcases 18 original poems written by students and other members of the campus community on the theme “Celebrating the Spaces We Live In.”
The poems will be posted on signs along a designated campus walking path beginning at D’Angelo Common, continuing around the Gabelli Business School, and ending behind Global Heritage Hall.
In conjunction with the walk, a community event and reception, featuring a public talk by former US Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky will be held on April 18th at 4:30 PM in the University Library’s Mary Tefft White Cultural Center.
A virtual exhibition has also been created to preserve and highlight the Poetry Walk.
This project is supported by the Provost’s Office, the Mary Tefft White “Talking in the Library” endowment, and the Center for Student Academic Success.
