The M.Arch program at RWU provides a rigorous professional training in design, history, planning, and technology while helping students develop critical strategic thinking and communication skills to tackle a range of issues from sustainability and urban planning to historic preservation. The program is STEM-designated, allowing for international students to pursue an additional two years of OPT.

The Cummings School of Architecture in 2007 established a Teaching Firm in Residence Program that is unique in the United States, with the intention to bring the highest quality educator-practitioners to the School from the region, the country, and abroad for semester-long stays. Graduate M.Arch students have the option to participate in studios taught by Teaching Firms in Residence each semester.
