Pivot the Hustle
The CWPD, in partnership with the Department of Corrections, offers a re-entry program to support eligible, soon-to-be released incarcerated men and women to prepare them for employment and career paths that lead to self-sufficiency.
Program Description
University College and the Rhode Island Department of Corrections have launched an innovative and results-oriented program designed to help inmates garner skills for successful re-entry into the workforce and employment upon release. Pivot the Hustle works with eligible inmates expected to be up for parole in less than 18 months.
Its goal is to provide skill and career readiness support to prepare participants for employment and career paths that lead to self-sufficiency. The individualized approach works with inmates to help them realize they have skills and encourages them to pivot those skills through building assessments, an educational road map, tutoring, and process remapping specific to the individual based on their individual needs and career aspirations.
