Trained in sculpture, painting, drawing, jewelry, and textile conservation, Elizabeth Duffy is an artist whose compulsive process and love of material culture drives her to mine the revelatory in the ordinary. Her work is influenced by feminist art, an itinerant way of life, and the confluence of art with everyday life.

Elizabeth's extensive history includes national and international venues including the Drawing Center, the RISD museum, the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, White Columns and DM Contemporary in NYC and BianNero in Brussels, Belgium. She has held residencies at MacDowell, Yaddo, the Bogliasco Foundation in Italy, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, VCCA, the Ucross Foundation in Wyoming and the Sirius Art Centre in Ireland.

Duffy is the recipient of awards from the Pollock Krasner Foundation, New York Foundation for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, where she was awarded grants in both Sculpture and Craft in 2019. Her work has been written about in the New York Times, Art News, Art on Paper, the Boston Globe, the Village Voice, and many other publications.

Her works are held in prominent public collections such as The Smithsonian Institution, the RISD Museum, the Heard Museum, and the Milwaukee Art Museum.

In her teaching, Elizabeth works with students to help identify their passions and bring their individual voice to the forefront through making.
