Architecture Library
About
The Architecture Library supports the teaching and research of the Cummings School of Architecture at Roger Williams University. The print collections that comprise the core of the library were initially begun in 1983. When the Cummings School of Architecture building was constructed in 1987, the Architecture Library moved into the building, becoming a branch library administered by University Library Services. The current library occupies its original footprint of 4,500 square feet on two floors at the south end of the building.
Over time, the Architecture Library has become a distinctive regional resource in the areas of architecture, historic preservation, urban design, and landscape architecture. The library holds more than 24,000 volumes and provides access to over 300 current journal and newsletter titles covering the disciplines of the built environment. The University Library, located nearby, houses the visual arts collection and provides access to essential electronic resources including research databases, the visual resources collection, streaming media, and the university’s digital repository.
