Graduate Transfer Assistant Job Description
Position Description
Reporting directly to the Senior Transfer/Pathways Academic Advisor, and indirectly to the Director of Academic Advising, the Graduate Assistant (GA) will serve as a multifaceted asset to the Center for Student Academic Success.
Transfer Credit Evaluations and Advising
Transfer Credit Evaluations/Transfer Student Initiatives
- Assist the Senior Transfer/Pathways Academic Advisor with data entry tasks for initial transfer credit evaluations.
- Assist the Senior Transfer/Pathways Academic Advisor with monitoring the transfer@rwu.edu email.
- Assist in scheduling transfer map meetings on behalf of the Senior Transfer/Pathways Academic Advisor with newly accepted transfer students.
- Assist the Senior Transfer/Pathways Academic Advisor with Transfer Student centered programming.
Advising
- Field questions concerning academic resources and university policies by monitoring Advising email (when applicable)
CSAS Front Desk Administration
- Work to staff front desk as needed
- Assist with restocking of office supplies as necessary
Graduate Assistant Expectations
- Graduate Assistant must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality policies (and sign confidentiality agreement) when working with students and accessing student records.
- Be in good academic and judicial standing with the University.
Graduate Assistant Benefits
- Hands-on experience in working in a dynamic academic environment.
- Approximately 8-10 hours/week at Graduate Assistant pay level (subject to change).
