What do you do? How long have you been at RWU?
As the Assistant Athletic Communications Director at RWU, my job consists of being the person of contact for 14 teams, accumulating statistics, writing press releases, running the social media, creating programs, and overseeing some work-study students. I have just recently completed my first year at Roger Williams University.
What gets you excited about coming to work every day?
I love working with my team (my boss, intern, and work-study staff) to provide a fun experience for our student-athletes. Part of my job consists of telling the stories of teams and individual student-athletes and being able to work with them to expose their achievements is inspirational and motivational. Also, being a former Division III student-athlete, I understand some of the needs/challenges that the student-athletes face so I enjoy being a resource for them as well.
What is your most memorable student experience?
My most memorable student experience would be watching my work-study staff grow throughout the year. We had many incoming freshmen, but watching them become confident, hardworking, successful individuals throughout the course of a year was pretty amazing. By the end of the year, students were overcoming their fears and trying new positions, such as announcing. Watching their development has been a pleasure.
How has RWU changed/grown since you arrived?
During my short time at RWU, I have watch SECCM Lab being built and have had a chance to interact with the new President.
