Matthew Kite is a sworn police officer with over twenty years of experience in the field of Criminal Justice, including policy development and implementation, patrol operations, investigations, traffic crash reconstruction, police supervision, and resource management. He received his bachelor's (2006) and master's (2008) degrees in criminal justice from Roger Williams University before attending Northeastern University where he received a doctorate in law and policy (LP.D.). 

Prior to becoming a civilian police officer, he served five years on active duty in the United States Army Military Police Corps. He was stationed in Wisconsin, where he was able to attend training at the Wisconsin State Police Academy and Germany where he was able to work with the German National Police and the German Military Police.  

He currently serves as a Lieutenant with the Cranston Police Department and is a guest lecturer at the RWU Justice System Training & Research Institute.
