Continuing Studies Application

Please Note: This application is intended for those applicants interested in enrolling in an undergraduate degree or certificate program through the School of Continuing Studies at RWU. If you are interested in applying to a graduate program or to the full-time day program, please visit admission.rwu.edu.

There is a $50.00 non-refundable fee in order for you application to be processed. Please send the application fee to 150 Washington St., Providence, RI 02903. We will alert you of the receipt of your electronic application and hold it until we receive the application fee. Application fees are waived for military personnel and returning students.

Academic Background

In order to complete a final evaluation of your prior credits, to gain full acceptance into the program of your choice, and in addition to the completion and submission of this application, you must have your official high school transcript/GED and all post-secondary transcripts sent directly to the School of Continuing Studies - Providence Campus at the address below. Students who have previously earned a baccalaureate degree do not need to submit high school/GED records. Please indicate your academic background below.

Discipline History

Have you ever been adjudicated to guilty or convicted of a misdemeanor, felony, or other crime?

Note that you are not required to answer “yes” to this question, or provide an explanation, if the criminal adjudication or conviction has been expunged, sealed, annulled, pardoned, destroyed, impounded, or otherwise ordered by a court to be kept confidential. If you have been out of high school less than five years please answer question 2:

Have you ever been found responsible for a disciplinary violation at any educational institution you have attended from the 9th grade (or the international equivalent) forward, whether related to academic misconduct or behavioral misconduct that resulted in a disciplinary action?

If answered “yes” to either or both questions, please attach a separate sheet of paper that gives the approximate date of each incident, explains the circumstances, and reflects on what you learned from the experience.

I have read and understand the provisions of the application for admission to Roger Williams University continuing studies programs. I certify that all the information given is complete and accurate and given here for the purpose of having Roger Williams University take action in reliance thereon. I understand that any false or misleading statement, or inaccurate or incomplete information, may be a basis for denial of admission, revocation of acceptance, denial of financial aid award or result in misconduct proceedings being instituted by Roger Williams University.

I also agree to notify Roger Williams University in writing of any changes of status as to any part of this application which may occur after the date of signature. All materials submitted to Roger Williams University by the applicant become the property of Roger Williams University and cannot be returned or forwarded to a third party.

I understand that Roger Williams University reserves the right to modify the requirements for admission and graduation, to change the program of study, to amend any regulation affecting the student body, to increase tuition and fees, and to dismiss from Roger Williams University any student at any time, if it is deemed by Roger Williams University to be in the best interest of Roger Williams University or to the student to do so. Nothing in this application packet or catalogue may be considered as setting forth terms of a contract between a student or prospective student and Roger Williams University.
