Job Description: 

Please describe (briefly) the student’s role each year reflecting increasing responsibility:

Year 1 Responsibility/Function

  1. Learn the Admissions Funnel by working with the Counseling & Operations Teams throughout the course of the Application Season.
  2. Assist the Counseling Team by preparing for and accompanying staff members at College Fairs and/or High School Visits.
  3. Support the Operations Team with ordering, maintaining inventory, and distribution of all Print Publications.
  4. Assist the Operation Team with data collection and interpretation of all new prospective student data to understand how to make decisions form the data gathered.
  5. Attend all Admissions Staff Meetings and Marketing Communication Meetings to learn and understand all components of marketing to undergraduate prospective students.

Year 2 Responsibility/Function

  1. Assist Admission Outreach Manager with marketing, planning, and implementation of CW Live Events, Open House, Accepted Student Day Events.
  2. Track and maintain electronic and physical records of all print and email communications throughout the course of the Application Season.
  3. Create and maintain an organized inventory of all electronic communications; setup HTML emails as needed for each email campaign.
  4. Act as liaison to Operations and Counseling teams, as well as Student Admissions Assistance in keeping the staff updated with notifications as needed.
  5. Assist the Operations Team with the data analysis of all student data to plan new communication campaigns for the upcoming Application season.

Year 3 Responsibility/Function

  1. Assist the Admissions Outreach Manager with Cost Analysis of each Outreach Event.
  2. Complete Comprehensive Status Reports after each Outreach Event – Open House & Accepted Student Days
  3. Create Comprehensive Status Reports for events not previously analyzed – CW Live, Group Visits, Campus Tours, etc.
  4. Create a Communications Campaign to generate more Group Visits.
  5. Create a Communications Campaign for monthly Guidance Counselor Newsletters

Please describe how this role will support the student’s academic progress/experience:

For a student that is a Marketing Major, working within the Undergraduate Admissions Office will give the student first-hand experience in support of student recruitment for the university. The student will work in numerous areas of Undergraduate Admissions to get a well-rounded perspective of student recruitment by working with the Operations Team in support of data collection, implementing various marketing communication campaigns; the Admissions Outreach Manager in assisting with all aspects of Event Management; as well as the Counseling Team by preparing and participating in College Fairs and/ or High School Visits. The experience gained through this individualized training can set the ground work for a successful career in the Marketing field.
