International Student Services works in concert with student services and academic departments on campus to ensure the successful matriculation and graduation of international undergraduate and graduate students as well as visiting scholars.
From immigration assistance to interpersonal help, the Intercultural Center (IC) works to inform visa-possessing community members of their responsibilities and introduce them to opportunities both on and off campus. In addition, programs are designed to foster a higher level of interest and understanding of various cultures and backgrounds.
As an international student at Roger Williams University, you will find most of your questions answered here, at the IC. We are located in the north end of Maple Hall, next to Global Heritage Hall (GHH).
The IC staff is here to help you. We can assist you with immigration paperwork, adjusting to the American education system and lifestyle, and obtaining a social security number should you choose to work on campus. The IC sponsors social and cultural trips and programs throughout the school year for our students.
The Intercultural Center is open daily from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feel free to come by anytime to study, chat with friends, meet new people or cook a meal.
The advisor for all international students is Maria Adkins. She will sign I-20s, help you find your academic advisor and talk with you about culture shock or adjusting to the American classroom. Her office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. You are welcome to stop by or make an appointment.
