AS220 is open to all RI artists-new, emerging, established, experimental, amateur, professional and occasional. It was founded in 1985 to offer uncensored space to local artists, and currently sponsors programs in music, poetry, dance, theater and the visual arts. A wide range of volunteer opportunities are available to develop publicity and programs, to teach computer skills and develop web sites, and to oversee the café space during shows and coffeehouses. In addition, volunteers are needed to assist with developing new educational outreach programs in the arts.

The Providence Black Repertory Company provides the Rhode Island arts community with a unique opportunity to experience a broad range of cultural events that derive from the experience of the African Diaspora. Committed to developing, producing and presenting quality artistic events, PBRC places special emphasis on maximizing collaborative relationships within the greater artistic community and youth from culturally underserved neighborhoods, while placing great importance on the value of developing new audiences. PBRC offers professional theater; performance workshops; jazz, hip-hop and rap jam sessions; film series; and youth workshops. Students and community members are involved at all levels of program development and implementation.

City Arts! is a non-profit, community-based performance and fine arts organization. The mission of City Arts! is to provide an environment that encourages the exploration and development of the artistic talents of urban youth. Volunteers are needed to help offer a range of classes in the after-school program including the performing arts, music, theater, drawing, painting, poetry, creative writing and journalism. Volunteers are asked to commit 2-3 hours per week.
