Application Requirements

Applicants to the Master of Arts in Literacy Education program must hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and must hold a valid Teaching Certificate. While application materials do not need to be sent in one complete package, a complete application to this graduate program includes the following required materials:

• Completed online application
• $50 application fee
• Personal Statement (Topic given in application)
• Official and original transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended
• 2 letters of recommendation
• Copy of valid Teaching Certificate
• Résumé
• The GRE is not required for admission

Applicants must also undergo a personal interview; please contact Lisa Benjamino in the office of the Dean of the School of Education at (401) 254-3309 to schedule an interview after you have submitted all your application materials to the Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies Admissions.
