Beginning Friday, May 1, 2015 at noon, the RWU Colleague system will be unavailable for a short time due to system upgrades. This will mean that you will not be able to register online, access your grades, request transcripts, etc. until the system is reactivated. We anticipate that the Colleague system will be available again by May 11, 2015. We will notify you when the system upgrade is complete and access is restored.

Please submit all requests to and they will be processed based upon the date of receipt.

To ensure that you are enrolled in the Summer and Fall course(s) of your choice, you are encouraged to register online for courses prior to May 1st. Students who cannot register by May 1st can take advantage of the following options:

  1. Contact your academic advisor who will complete the Summer and/or Fall registration form(s) on your behalf and document your request so SCS can manually enroll you in the course(s). Students who have questions regarding their assigned advisor can contact Mary Cooney at 401-254-4805 or
  2. Register online when the system upgrade is complete and access is restored.


Tom Wheatley

I started my career in EMS and Fire in 1982.  I started my EMT education in Riviera Beach Florida and continued studies with my Paramedic in Miami Florida with a degree in EMS.

My Paramedic classes were done through Jackson Memorial Trauma Center with Miami Dade College.   I have previously worked for the Palm Beach County Florida Fire/ Rescue. During my career I received paramedic of the year award in 1993 with Palm Beach County Florida. I also served in the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Communication sector. 

I attended Lynn University in Boca Raton Florida and Palm Beach College for a degree in psychology 1987. I am a Certified EMT Basic, Cardiac, and Paramedic instructor conducting classes in Palm Beach County Florida.

I am a certified American Heart Association Instructor and teaching CPR/AED, First/Aid, ACLS and PALS.   I have worked at Roger Williams Hospital in the ambulance division.

In 2010 I accepted an Associate Instructors teaching position with American Safety Programs and Training Inc. I currently teach in the EMT Basic, Cardiac and Paramedic programs and teach the AHA , CPR/AED, First/Aid, ACLS and PALS classes
