Robert Petteruti attended Boston University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics, cum laude. He enrolled at the University of Virginia for his Master’s degree in mathematics. He earned one of the early M.A.T. degrees: Master of Arts in the teaching of mathematics. His fields of concentration were theoretical mathematical principles, including such topics as abstract algebra, complex variables, real variables, and advanced calculus and how concepts from these disciplines could best be taught in the classroom.
Beginning in 2005, Mr. Petteruti, at the request of Northeastern University and later at Roger Williams University, initiated online courses in mathematics. The courses include College Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics. These courses were developed by him for online presentation. The university has certified him as its first online Mathematics specialist. He continues to teach online courses and Cohort Program courses in the College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University and continues teaching Statistics online at Roger Williams University.
