Mr. Sequeira is a twenty-year law enforcement professional in a medium-sized city. He has served in many capacities throughout his career including: uniform patrol officer, detective, sergeant, community policing supervisor, and lieutenant. He has also served several years in his agency’s Professional Standards unit, otherwise known as Internal Affairs. In this capacity, he was tasked with investigating complaints of alleged officer misconduct and/or officer criminal conduct. He now serves as the interim detective division commander.  In his present assignment, Mr. Sequeira is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the detective division, which includes a juvenile unit; bureau of criminal identification (CSI) unit; financial crime unit, and a major crime unit (homicides, robberies, and most other serious felonies).

One of the most rewarding assignments during his tenure has been that of Community Policing supervisor. In that capacity, he had the opportunity to work collaboratively with people of divergent backgrounds with the singular goal of improving the quality of life for all community members. Through cooperative efforts, programs were designed and implemented that addressed domestic violence mitigation; sex offender registration and accountability; and the reduction of fear through education and awareness.

Mr. Sequeira attended Providence College and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. He also graduated with a Master’s degree in Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University.
