RWU’s AIAS Chapter hosted the AIAS NE Quad Conference 29 September-2 October, entitled “Connections: Past/Future”, nearly 300 students from 35 architecture programs in the Northeast, as well as many practicing professionals and community members from the region attended the conference. The program included a Friday daylong charrette in Warren involving the Community Partnerships Center, a keynote address by 2011 AIA/ACSA Topaz Medallion Winner Lawrence Speck, FAIA from the University of Texas at Austin on Friday September 30. Saturday included discussion topics involving students, faculty, architects and community members from the region, and the Beaux Arts Ball on October 1 at The Steelyard, Providence.
