Dean's Message

The world of business is characterized by constant change, uncertainty and opportunities. And nowhere can you get a better preparation for these challenges than in the Mario J. Gabelli School of Business at Roger Williams University. Our programs are designed to prepare individuals to thrive in a dynamic, global marketplace.

In the Mario J. Gabelli School of Business we provide a distinctive mix of faculty excellence and individualized attention to create a superb learning environment in which you can excel. In this unique setting you will learn to critically analyze business issues, work in a team environment, appropriately apply technology, and effectively communicate your ideas. We are one of just 15 percent of the world’s business schools accredited by the AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

We are proud of our dedicated faculty in the GSB and our low student-faculty ratio. Each student is assigned a faculty advisor who provides individual attention on issues ranging from class scheduling to career preparation. In addition to their classroom activities, all students in the GSB may participate in our internship program, earning academic credit and gaining valuable professional experience during their college years. Students also have the opportunity to work as consultants to local businesses and not-for-profit organizations through our Small Business Support Center. Many business majors also take advantage of the University’s study abroad options, spending a summer or semester in a foreign country. We also offer top students the opportunity to participate in our unique, hands-on Center for Advanced Financial Education, in which student fund managers invest a $100,000 real-dollar stock portfolio.

Our excellent faculty and quality programs will provide you with the knowledge and experience you need to become a successful and ethical business leader in an increasingly complex global marketplace. I hope you will give serious consideration to the opportunities that await you in the Mario J. Gabelli School of Business. A business education with a strong foundation in the liberal arts is widely recognized as excellent preparation for a variety of career opportunities, as well as for graduate and law school programs.
