How Can Your Organization Team With The RWU CPC?

Projects that the CPC undertakes with community partners are chosen in a competitive selection process. Potential partners must complete and submit the CPC Project Assistance Application below, along with all required support materials. There are two deadlines for projects a year: October 1, 2013 for Spring 2014 semester projects and April 1, 2014 for Fall 2014 semester projects.

As we prepare for the upcoming 2013-14 academic year, the RWU CPC is seeking new projects that can benefit the communities of Southeastern New England while providing our student/faculty teams with opportunities to apply their learning, engage the community and create final products that provide benefits to all.

We hope that your organization considers applying for project assistance with the RWU Community Partnerships Center on a project this year. In order to assist organizations with their applications, we are happy to answer specific questions by e-mail or phone. We look forward to working with you in the future and encourage you to contact us should you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Application for CPC Project Assistance

Selection Criteria

The selection criteria will be established by the CPC in conjunction with the University and the Advisory Board. In selecting a project for RWU involvement, the activity should comply with as many of the following criteria as possible:

  1. The project will be carried out in partnership with not-for-profit organizations, especially those whose mission is to improve the built environment, improve the quality of life in neighborhoods and community centers, preserve historic resources and make the arts accessible to a broad audience.
  2. The project will be carried out with an organization that would not otherwise have the means to retain a design/conservation/arts professional to do the work.
  3. RWU involvement in the project will be meaningful and measurable in advancing a solution to a community/organizational need to the point where it will move closer to implementation.
  4. The client organization will have realistic expectations of the capacity and abilities of RWU faculty and students operating in a specified time frame.
  5. The client organization will not expect RWU to expose itself to undue liability (e.g. inspection of unsafe structures, stamping drawings for construction, etc.).
