November 3rd, 2012 by Anonymous

Student work from the inaugural offering of the Emerging Artist Program organized between the Town of Bristol and Roger Williams University was on view in the SAAHP Atrium from September 27th to October 11th. Four students from Mount Hope High School, Bristol, coordinated by Art instructor Kathleen Dwyer, enrolled alongside Roger Williams students in a VARTS 101 Foundations of Drawing class taught by Adjunct Faculty and Art on Campus Coordinator Rob Rustermier in the Summer 2 Session from early July to mid-August. The effort is supported by a Town of Bristol-Roger Williams University Cooperative Committee, and Mount Hope High School was supported in Summer and Fall 2012 through a grant from the Bristol-Warren Educational Foundation.

The Emerging Artist Program continues in Fall 2012 with nine Mount Hope High School students enrolled in VARTS 201 Drawing the Figure, taught by Adjunct Faculty Tayo Heuser.
