SAAHP Emerging Artist, Summer Intensive and Summer Academy Programs for HS students continue

SAAHP's 2013 Summer offerings included continuing efforts in three initiatives for High School students.

The Emerging Artist Program with Mt. Hope High School, Bristol
Offered for the second consecutive year, 6 students from Mt. Hope High School, Bristol were enrolled in the five-week VARTS 101 Foundations of Drawing, taught by RI artist and adjunct faculty Amy Walsh.

Summer Intensive Program
For the third year in a row, the RWU Summer Intensive Program in Architecture and Art was offered, this year with 10 Architecture and Visual Arts Studies students. Students came from the Charter High School for Architecture and Design (CHAD), Philadelphia; Aviation High School in Long Island City, New York; the MET School, Providence; and Central Falls High School, RI among 30+ high school students. Students attend on full academic scholarships supported by the School.

Summer Academy in Architecture
For the sixteenth consecutive year, the SAAHP Summer Academy was offered, this year to 11 students from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and Delaware. The program includes full tuition, room and board scholarships to two students.
