Vikram Bhatt wins $50,000 Margolese National Design for Living Prize

Vikram Bhatt, Spring 2015 Visiting Professor at Roger Williams University School of Architecture, Art and Historic Preservation, has won the Margolese National Design for Living Prize, a $50,000 award given annually to a Canadian who has made and continues to make outstanding contributions to the development or improvement of living environments for Canadians of all economic classes. Bhatt was subsequently featured in the Vancouver Sun.

Architecture Graduates Attend M.Arch. Programs in Fall 2014

December 2013 and May 2014 graduates from the BS in Architecture program are attending several graduate programs across the US in Fall 2014, including Daniel Foguere at the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture, Giovanna Lang at the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture and Planning; Matthew Diack at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCIARC), and Michael Laurencelle at the University of Washington. 70% of this year’s undergraduate Architecture graduating class will continue on to Roger Williams University’s Master of Architecture Program.



Checkerboard Film Foundation Donates Films on Architects to SAAHP

The Checkerboard Film Foundation, New York has donated 20 feature films on architecture to the School of Architecture, Art and Historic Preservation. The Foundation was established in 1979 to document, through the medium of film and video, artists who are making unique and important contributions to the American Arts.

Michael Rich’s work shown in Nantucket and San Francisco in Summer 2014

Professor of Art Michael Rich’s work was shown in several Nantucket shows this Summer—paintings at the Old Spouter Gallery, etchings at the Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN), paintings at the AAN’s Annual Sidewalk Sale, and paintings at the Adler & Co. booth at artMRKT at San Francisco’s Fort Mason Center.





Wodiczko + Bonder shortlisted for Canadian National Holocaust Museum

Harvard University public artist Krzysztof Wodiczko and Roger Williams University Professor of Architecture Julian Bonder were shortlisted in an international competition for Canada's National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa earlier in 2014. Finalists included many top international architects including:

Wodizcko + Bonder wrote of their scheme:
