Pavlides leads EDRA symposium with RWU students Postian, Droogan, RIC and Manitoba colleagues

Professor of Architecture Eleftherios Pavlides PhD, AIA, organized a half day symposium at the International Environmental Design Research Association Conference EDRA47 in Raleigh on May 18 2016 entitled “A Case Study of Innovative Health Policy, Requiring Architectural Innovation, Based on Innovative Ethnographic Methods as a Paradigm for Shifting Towards Research Translation”. Eleftherios Pavlides PhD, AIA, Professor of Architecture, co-presented with Thomas Banchoff, Emeritus Professor of Mathematics Brown University on the Chiral Icosahedral Hinge Elastegrity's Shape-shifting at the G4G12 Gathering for Gardner Twelve on March 31 2016 in Atlanta. Sarah Thompson, M.Arch ’16, was listed as third co-author. The presentation explored geometries involving folding and woven rigid and elastic members that can change shape, and polyhedral geometries that may be useful in structures as well as as models of biological forms
