Below is our 2013 listing of Summer Program offerings. If you have any questions contact the listed program coordinator or coach.
RWU is pleased to offer academic-based summer programming. Academic programs are residential, giving students a true college experience. While these summer programs are subject-specific and focus on building skills in their respective areas, students take advantage of our beautiful waterfront campus and take field trips to locations around the region.
The program offers a curriculum with a variety of studio, seminar and field experiences, extracurricular activities and field trips, allowing students to understand architecture as a possible area of college study, and as a career. Students gain a broader view of the field while developing skills and portfolio materials to add to their applications to professional school. Workshops, lectures, demonstrations and off-campus experiences complement daily design studios. Students are also advised on the college admission and portfolio-building processes. The Summer Academy in Architecture carries college credits.
Learn in the dynamic, thriving marine environments of the southern New England coast. Summer Marine Program students will learn about coastal ecosystems, food webs, productivity of the sea, plants and animals in the coastal zone, current events in marine biology and much more. Students will participate in many field trips, including sea kayaking, snorkeling and whale watching, and will learn about the many issues facing our marine environment today.
