The School of Education (SEd) at Roger Williams University seeks to educate reflective leaders whose practice is grounded in a commitment to social justice, civil discourse, global citizenship and educational excellence for all students. Our programs are designed to provide students with hands-on learning experiences in real classrooms around the region during their student teaching coursework. The professional education that our students receive at RWU reflects cutting-edge educational research and practice.

All education programs at RWU are approved by the Rhode Island Department of Education. Our graduates are eligible for certification in RI and nearly every other state in the country.

Our unique conference strives to listen to community voices by privileging those points of view. Join us for sessions led by a host of voices - including immigrant parents, students in low-performing schools, English language learners, students with special needs, and students in alternative schools - as they share what they need in their educational experiences.

Students in either Elementary or Secondary Education may complete additional courses to gain Middle School Endorsement, allowing them additional employment opportunities. In addition, Secondary Education majors may choose a program to gain PK-12 certification in Dance Education.
