Business students who major in marketing at Roger Williams University learn about the distribution of goods and services, consumer behavior, pricing policies, retail and wholesale distribution, advertising, sales, research and management. Other topics you are likely to encounter include market segmentation and targeting, effective customer service, new product development and logistics. The Marketing program at RWU has two tracks available—Marketing Communications and Marketing Analysis.
The Marketing major requires analytical and creative skills, and offers career opportunities in advertising and public relations, market research, product management, retailing, sales and sales management, non-profit marketing and government agencies. Students have the opportunity to work on research projects with our distinguished faculty members. Recent examples include, " The Determinants of Hotel Satisfaction in China," presented at Northeast Decision Sciences Institute Conference. In addition, our students competed in the American Advertising Federation National Student Advertising Competition and placed fourth in District 1.
